Gilad Erdan, Israel’s ambassador to the United States, tweeted that he’d penned to 35 governors of U.S. states that have laws in opposition to the boycott of Israel, contacting on them to impose sanctions versus Ben & Jerry’s.

“We look at this conclusion very severely as it is the de-facto adoption of anti-Semitic procedures and development of the de-legitimization of the Jewish condition and the de-humanization of the Jewish individuals,” he wrote in the letter, in accordance to a photo he posted on Twitter.

That Israeli lawmakers framed Ben & Jerry’s selection as a boycott of Israel itself will be welcomed by Jewish settlers residing in the occupied West Lender and east Jerusalem.

These territories have been captured by Israel from Jordan in the 1967 Mideast war.

Most of the global community, on the other hand, considers both equally locations to be occupied territory and settlements there to be unlawful underneath international regulation.

Practically 700,000 Jewish settlers live in the two places — about 440,000 in the occupied West Lender and 220,000 in east Jerusalem, according to Peace Now, an Israeli business that advocates for an independent Palestinian point out.
