On Wednesday, TripAdvisor unveiled its 2021 Travelers’ Preference “Most effective of the Very best” restaurant awards, and only 1 San Francisco cafe created the reduce.

Kokkari Estiatorio arrived in 10th position on the annual rating in the “High-quality Eating” class.

“Always the very best,” reads one particular of the reviews on its TripAdvisor website page.

Kokkari has prolonged been an institution in San Francisco, known for its wooden-fired rotisserie meats and its Grecian flavors.

Much more than two decades outdated, Kokkari appears a relatively harmless and clear-cut decision. As previous San Francisco Chronicle foodstuff critic Michael Bauer wrote of the Economical District cafe in 2015: “With the odor of oregano and burning embers, diners could envision themselves on the Greek Isles. For all those who dream of going there, the very simple, pure meals at Kokkari is an inducement to fulfill that desire.”

TripAdvisor’s cafe awards are calculated dependent on the “quality and quantity of traveler assessments and scores” from Jan. 1, 2020, to April 30, 2021. Awards this year have been given in 8 types: great eating, every day eats, quick bites, photograph-ideal eating places, day evening, very best brunch spots, hottest new places to eat and greatest vegan places.

Kokkari was not the only Bay Region establishment to make the reduce in the good dining classification. Three North Bay eating places also clocked in on the list, including Valette in Healdsburg (No. 17), The French Laundry in Yountville (No. 21) and Bistro Jeanty (No. 22), also in Yountville.

Gott’s Roadside in St. Helena also created the listing for very best speedy bites, clocking in at No. 15.
