Report-breaking blizzard is worst to strike Denver in approximately 15 years

The blizzard that dumped more than 2 toes of snow this weekend in the Denver area was the fourth biggest in the city’s heritage, the National Temperature Service announced Monday. 

Residents across Colorado, Wyoming and Nebraska are now digging out after the main winter storm remaining at least 24 inches of snow around Boulder and Fort Collins and nearly 31 in Cheyenne — breaking a two-day whole record there of 25.2 inches set in 1979. Winter temperature advisories are now in impact for areas of South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin and Illinois as remnants of the blizzard go eastward. 

“Denver International Airport measured 27.1 inches of snow creating it the 4th greatest snowstorm in Denver Temperature Background courting back to 1881,” the NWS’ Boulder Business office said Monday. It also was the biggest snowstorm in the metropolis considering the fact that 2006.

The Wyoming Division of Transportation suspended plowing operations in the Casper place Sunday thanks to significant snow and a absence of visibility, the agency stated.
